Water walls

Water becomes a surface.

Water walls guide water in a controlled manner over a vertical surface and combine movement, material and sound to create an architectural design element for gardens, terraces and interior spaces.

Principle

water as
vertical surface

A water wall develops its effect at height. The water is passed over an upright body and runs down its surface. Depending on the model, this creates a coherent film of water over a closed area or flows over several staggered bodies of water.

The nature of the surface determines how this water pattern is read: a matt brushed metal surface distributes the light evenly, a mineral structure breaks the water flow and makes grain and relief visible. In addition to the optical movement, there is an acoustic presence - water walls are visible and audible at the same time.

Many Revisage water walls work in a closed circuit: a pump pumps the water from a lower reservoir back to the upper water outlet.

The water follows the surface - making it more visible than it would be if it were dry.

A water wall translates the movement of a fountain into the vertical.

Three approaches,
to shape a surface

Material and location determine whether a water wall stands as an architectural body in the garden, acts as a mineral surface in the interior or appears as a light, transparent plane.

01

Outdoor architecture

Water walls made of Corten steel and stainless steel stand freely in the landscape. Their geometry is clearly legible and the full surface is covered by flowing water - this creates a vertical focal point that structures a garden or terrace.

Placed on visual axes, they organize the outside space; The contrast between the calm material surface and the moving water creates the effect. Depending on the model, several sizes are available.

02

Natural stone in the interior

Granite, marble, onyx and slate react differently to water. The wet film deepens the color and grain, emphasizes veins and makes the structure of the stone more present than it would ever be dry.

Because each block is drawn differently, each natural stone water wall remains an independent object. These models look less like decorative indoor fountains and more like sculptural elements of the room.

03

Glass & stainless steel

The lightest of the three versions. Water runs evenly over a surface made of ESG glass, framed by a matt brushed stainless steel frame. The surface remains translucent - the space behind it does not disappear, it is filtered.

Transparency, reflection and the calm water flow result in an object that shows its presence in modern interiors without visually closing off the surface.

Curated selection

Six water walls.
Six different effects.

Natural stone and stainless steel show how different a vertical water surface can look in the interior - from mineral drawings to clear geometry.

Material & water pattern

The surface
changes the water.

The same amount of water passed over four different materials creates four different objects. The surface determines reflection, flow behavior and how calm or lively a surface appears.

Stainless steel

Smooth · precise · reflective

A uniform surface throughout. The water forms a coherent film over it and emphasizes edges, joints and proportions. Matt brushed stainless steel diffuses the light softly instead of reflecting it harshly - the geometry remains the main message.

Corten steel

Warm · matt · changeable

The rust patina is not a coating, but a surface with its own depth. When wet, it becomes darker and richer, increasing the contrast between moving water and a calm surface. A material for outdoor spaces that interacts with plants and daylight.

Natural stone

Mineral · tactile · individual

Granite, marble, onyx, slate and other stones differ in grain, hardness and surface relief. Water deepens the drawing and follows the structure rather than covering it. Which stone is available for which model differs depending on the object.

Glass

Transparent · light

Glass holds the water without interrupting the view. The film of water itself becomes a visible layer: what lies behind it remains visible, but moves. The stainless steel frame gives the surface an edge that the glass alone would not have.

Material, surface, water pattern - and from this the character of the room.

The choice of material is therefore less a question of taste than a question of the desired effect: geometric and precise, warm and scenic, mineral and individual or light and permeable.

Application

Between architecture
and atmosphere

01

Garden & Landscape

Freestanding water walls made of Corten steel or stainless steel create a vertical accent in a mostly horizontal environment. At the end of a visual axis, in front of a hedge or at the end of a lawn, they become the focal point.

The movement of water brings change to structured garden spaces without disrupting their order.

02

Terrace & courtyard

On terraces and in courtyards, a water wall develops its presence over the height. It works with the vertical of the adjacent architecture - wall, facade, privacy screen - rather than against it.

It is important to coordinate proportions and location: a tall body needs distance in order to be read as a surface.

03

Interior

For interiors, Revisage offers water walls made of natural stone and glass with stainless steel frames. They are intended for residential and commercial spaces and bring three things into the room at the same time: movement, a quiet sound of water and a reflective surface.

Individual models are also positioned in relation to the humidity in the room, as water evaporates over a large surface. Which object is suitable for an interior depends on the model - outdoor water walls are not intended for this.

Planning

What with one
Water wall is important

Water walls differ in technology and structure. The following points are intended as a guide - the specific design varies depending on the model.

01

Water cycle

Many Revisage water walls work with a circulation system: a pump transports the water from a lower reservoir or tank back to the upper water body, from where it runs down the area again. Depending on the model, the reservoir size and structure differ.

02

Water picture

How the water appears depends on the interaction of the flow rate, the number and setting of the water outlets, the geometry of the body and the surface structure. In individual models - such as the Corten steel outdoor water wall GB - the outlets can be individually adjusted.

03

Water sound

The acoustic character depends on how the water is guided: sliding or falling freely over a closed surface, over a smooth or structured surface, into which pool it hits. Interior models are designed for a restrained water flow.

04

Electricity

Since the water is circulated, each water wall requires a power connection for the pump. Models with lighting - standard for several objects, optional for others - require additional electricity.

05

water level

In a closed circuit, some of the water evaporates over the wetted surface. In indoor objects, the water level must therefore be checked regularly and refilled occasionally - it is precisely this effect that connects water walls with the issue of indoor humidity.

06

Location

A stable, level surface, a power connection within easy reach and the surrounding area of the installation area must be taken into account. In the exterior, the visual axis and orientation are crucial, and in the interior the sensitivity of adjacent materials and surfaces is also crucial.

Whether an object is designed for inside or outside can be seen in the respective product description. The outdoor models made of Corten steel and stainless steel and the indoor models made of natural stone and glass are different series.
