Biophilic design asks for real greenery indoors, but a living moss wall carries its own logistics: humidity control, indirect light, and occasional misting. A moss picture solves the same visual problem differently. It uses real moss - not a living plant, not a printed image - preserved through a process that keeps it soft and dimensionally stable indefinitely, with no watering, no soil, and no light requirement at all. Eight models in the current range show how far that single idea stretches, from a narrow 57x27cm strip to a three-piece round set.
What preservation actually does
Each moss picture is hand-preserved using glycerin and food-grade coloring. The process replaces the water inside the moss's cells with glycerin, keeping it indefinitely soft, flexible and stable in form - without roots, soil or photosynthesis. The result needs no watering, no fertilizing and no maintenance, according to the product's own care notes. The one real constraint: avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which fades the colour over time; occasional, indirect light does no harm.
Three moss varieties
Depending on the model, up to three varieties are available: ball moss (model code "KM"), forest moss combined with ball moss ("WK"), and Iceland moss ("IM") - which, strictly speaking, is a lichen rather than a true moss, though the preserved-botanicals trade markets it under the same name for its dense, cloud-like texture. Each variety carries its own texture and colour depth, so the same frame format reads quite differently depending on which one is chosen.
Frame material follows shape, not preference
The frame choice is tied to format, not arbitrary. The round formats - Ø54cm, Ø80cm, and the three-piece set - come exclusively with a stainless steel frame. The compact 57x27cm rectangle comes exclusively in solid white wood. Only the larger 100x60cm rectangle lets the buyer choose: white, black or oak. That split is not a cosmetic footnote - it decides which room language each piece speaks: cool and linear in steel, warm and classical in solid wood.

Where it actually fits the best
The product copy itself names living rooms, offices and "formal, representative spaces" as the intended settings - places that want a biophilic design element without the upkeep of a living plant wall. The small 57x27cm format suits a narrow wall section such as a hallway or a nook beside a doorway; the three-piece round set suits a larger, continuous wall surface - above a sideboard or sofa - where the three differing diameters create a natural, deliberately asymmetric arrangement.
FAQ
Does a moss picture need watering or occasional misting?
No. The preserved moss needs no water and no fertilizer according to the manufacturer - in fact, it should not be wetted at all.
Does the colour fade over time?
Only under prolonged, direct sunlight. Occasional, indirect light does not affect the colour intensity.
What's the difference between the round and rectangular models?
Mainly the frame: round formats come only in stainless steel, the compact rectangle only in white solid wood, and the larger rectangle lets you choose between white, black and oak.
How long is delivery?
7 to 10 working days for the single models, 10 to 15 working days for the three-piece set.
A moss picture stays exactly what it is: not plastic, not a living plant, but preserved natural material with a single piece of care advice - keep it out of permanent direct sun, and otherwise leave it alone.
