Showstones: Three Garden Sculptures That Exist Only Once

Drei Unikate, die es kein zweites Mal gibt

Most items in a garden catalogue can be reordered if a size sells out. A showstone cannot. Each piece in Revisage's Showstone collection is an individually photographed block of natural stone, and the piece a buyer receives is the exact one shown, with no second copy in the same colour pattern. Three stones from the collection show how differently that principle can play out.

Two series, two purposes

The collection is organised into named series, two of which appear here. The "Montevideo" series consists of elegantly shaped pieces with a single drilled hole through the stone, built with the option of a later conversion into a fountain. The "Santiago" series skips that hole in favour of freer, abstract forms meant to stand as sculpture alone.

From the Montevideo series:
the Honey Onyx Showstone "Montevideo" Nr 3/H 90cm (from 1.620 €) carries the honey-toned, Mediterranean-leaning pattern typical of onyx marble. 90cm tall, a 40x15cm base, roughly 150kg, quarried in Turkey, winter-hardy, and convertible into a fountain on request.

From the Santiago series, the rarest colouring:
the Purple Wave Showstone "Santiago" Nr 1/H 102cm (from 1.699 €) shows violet, grey and blue inclusions the maker describes as extremely rare among natural stones. 102cm tall, a 53x35cm base, roughly 231kg.

From the Santiago series, the heaviest piece:
the Riviera Showstone "Santiago" Nr 1/H 75cm (from 2.315 €) has a warmer, calmer colour register. At 75cm it is the shortest of the three, and at roughly 315kg it is both the heaviest and the most expensive.

Why height doesn't set the price

That last point is worth a closer look. The Riviera stone stands 27cm shorter than the Purple Wave stone, yet weighs 84kg more and costs 616 € more. The difference sits in the base: 70x45cm against 53x35cm. With showstones, price tracks stone volume, not visual height - a detail that matters more for siting than the eye first suggests.

All three are carved from a single block, rated winter-hardy, and quarried in Turkey. Each is also meant to stand alone, indoors or out, as a solitary object rather than part of a set.
