Indoor fountains & water features

Water becomes part of your space.

Indoors, you experience water at close quarters. Shape and material make the first impression. The water surface, sound, lighting, footprint and access for maintenance determine how a fountain fits into everyday life.

Space & everyday use

What makes a water feature right for indoors?

Its suitability comes from the relationship between water, equipment and the room they will share every day.

An indoor fountain recirculates water through an integrated or matched reservoir. It needs a level, stable, water-resistant surface and remains close to furniture, walls and the routes you use through the room throughout the year.

Whether you are choosing a tabletop fountain, a sculptural indoor water feature or a full-height water wall, check the individual model. A compact appearance alone cannot tell you how it will work in your space.

  • 01Water circuit

Water flows over the feature and returns to its basin or reservoir. The visible flow is just the upper part of the system.

  • 02Support

The basin, stone body, water and decorative gravel all add to the load. The supporting surface must be level, stable and water-resistant.

  • 03Equipment

Keep the pump, power supply and any lighting accessible after installation. Include cable exits when choosing the position.

  • 04Water level

Evaporation lowers the water level. Topping up is a routine task; the interval depends on exposed water, room conditions and running time.

  • 05Surface care

Wet surfaces and mineral deposits shape the cleaning routine. Granite, marble, glass and mineral chips each need appropriate care.

  • 06Close surroundings

Sound, splashing and moisture behave differently at close range indoors. Assess the distance from wood, paper, textiles and electronics.

Around the fountain

The room starts at the water's edge.

Product dimensions are fixed. Sound, reflected light, evaporation and the space needed for maintenance become clear in use, depending on the model, pump setting, room and daily routine.

Plan view of the area around an indoor water wall Schematic plan of a water wall with a pedestal and basin in front of a wall. Water emerges from a central bore at the top, runs down the front and back of the stone and across the closed basin plate to the single semicircular opening at the front of the pedestal. This houses the LED spotlight and provides pump access. A small semicircular notch at the rear routes pump and light cables towards the wall. A 1–2 cm gap separates pedestal and basin. Overlapping zones show the wet surface, sound, light, refilling, pump access, power and movement. Distances are not to scale. 1. 01

    Water-bearing body

The visible stone, glass or metal body carries the water. Its height, width and depth are fixed by the product.

  2. 02

    Wet surface

Where water covers the surface completely, it changes the colour, reflections and cleaning requirements.

  3. 03

    Variable sound zone

How far the sound carries depends on the water path, flow rate, basin and room acoustics. There is no fixed distance.

  4. 04

    Light & reflection

Wet surfaces and the model's specified lighting change the appearance between daytime and evening.

  5. 05

    Refilling & care

The access opening lets you reach the water level. You can also top up manually over the base; water drains through the gap between base and basin.

  6. 06

    Pump & service access

The recess for the LED spotlight also provides access for maintenance. One opening makes the pump and cleaning areas reachable.

  7. 07

    Power supply

Plan the cable exit and dry connections when choosing the position. Use only the supplied or recommended components.

  8. 08

    Furniture, walls & movement

The footprint, neighbouring materials and routes around the fountain define its wider setting.

Form & presence

Six forms. Six ways to shape a room.

Indoor water features bring water into a space in very different ways. Compare six forms, from close-up tabletop fountains to water walls with an architectural presence.

01

Architectural water wall

A vertical plane of flowing water at room scale. It can create a focal point, define an edge or divide a space. Its broad wet surface shapes its presence and evaporation; the basin and maintenance access belong in the same plan.

Low fountains are usually viewed from above. Furniture-sized models need their full supporting surface assessed: the Blue Pearl ball fountain's basin determines the space it occupies on a cabinet. A light column creates a vertical accent; a large water wall becomes part of the architecture. Shipping weights — around 8 kg for the rose quartz fountain, 10 kg for Nero Small and Noah Large, 35 kg for the Wachauer marble fountain, 15 kg for the Blue Pearl ball fountain and approximately 45 kg for the light fountain — exclude the full operating load.

Material · Water · Light

Water reveals the surface.

Dry stone can appear pale or crystalline. Water deepens the colour and adds reflections. Images are illustrative and cannot guarantee the veining of a natural stone piece.

Glass + rose quartz

The bowl reveals the volume of water. Mineral colour and an optional sphere create a material composition, without claims about healing, energy or chakras.

Water in circulation

Indoor fountains evaporate differently.

Water evaporates wherever it meets room air. A fully wetted water wall exposes a different surface from a small bowl or a single spring outlet. Temperature, humidity, running time, water surface and air movement all affect how quickly the level falls.

Any contribution to room humidity is variable. Keep the pump sufficiently covered as required by the product and manufacturer. No health benefits are claimed.

Small open bowl

Compact exposed surface

The Ø 30 cm rose quartz bowl holds a limited open volume of water. The wet surface remains concentrated around the fountain.

Local spring surface

Focused flow

The Wachauer spring stone and Noah slab guide water from a defined outlet, mainly wetting the stone itself.

Sphere and basin

Moving stone plus open water

The wet sphere and open basin both expose water to the air. Their surfaces differ from a continuous vertical film.

Fully wetted vertical plane

Continuous wet surface

Blue Pearl Wide and Nero Small carry water across the entire visible front. They have the largest wetted surfaces in this comparison.

A qualitative comparison — without litre estimates, humidity percentages or performance bars. Refilling frequency depends on the fountain, room and running time.

The Water Walls collection includes many indoor design fountains chosen with room humidity in mind. That intended use spans several designs rather than defining a separate form.

Water sounds at home

Indoors, the sound of water stays close.

Sound comes from the water path. Flow rate, construction, water level and room acoustics work together. At close range, audible water is part of living with an indoor fountain.

Surface flow

Fully wetted water wall

Water stays close to the grooved face of Blue Pearl and Nero water walls. How clearly you hear it depends on the setting, water level and room, as well as the design itself.

Moving sphere

A ball on a film of water

The visible movement of the Blue Pearl Indoor Ball Fountain is its calibrated sphere rotating on water. That does not establish a sound level: its audible character depends on the individual fountain and room.

Spring outlet and basin

Short flow, close listening

Wachauer marble and rose quartz fountains have a short water path. Compact size alone does not mean quiet operation. On a sideboard or desk, assess the sound against conversation, focused work and evening use.

01

Quiet living area

For reading, conversation and evenings, check the pump setting and the effect of hard, reflective surfaces before settling on a permanent position.

02

Office or reception

Focus and conversation share the space. Choose an office or reception fountain whose flow suits those activities and the acoustics around it.

03

Hallway or entrance

People move past the fountain. Its footprint, cables and refilling access must leave the route clear.

04

Open reception space

Large water walls and light columns work with long sightlines. Open rooms with hard surfaces carry sound further than living areas softened by textiles.

Position in the room

Four settings. Four relationships with space.

Placement depends on the particular model and room. Sightlines, the supporting surface, power and moisture-sensitive materials need to work together at the chosen spot.

01 · Beside a wall

Alignment and rear access

Compact and architectural water walls both echo the room's vertical lines. Assess nearby materials for water resistance, and plan power and maintenance access, including at the rear where required. Clearances must follow the individual model.

Compact Nero Assoluto Small water wall at the edge of a cabinet before a wall, with a grooved stone panel above its basin
Blue Pearl indoor ball fountain with a square stone basin on a living room sideboard

02 · At furniture height

Space for the basin

The Blue Pearl Indoor Ball Fountain needs room for its 25 × 25 cm basin. Provide level, stable, water-resistant support for the full operating weight, with cables and maintenance access within reach.

Noah Large table fountain on a wooden sideboard, with a low stone slab covered in flowing water above a pale basin

03 · On furniture

Load, level and surface

Noah Large, Nero Small and rose quartz fountains need level, stable, water-resistant support for their full operating weight. Assess the surrounding area before placing untreated wood, paper, textiles or electrical devices close to water.

Sölker Marble Special light fountain as a vertical accent in an open living room or reception area

04 · Reception or shared workspace

Sightlines and shared use

For a large water wall or light column, plan sightlines, sound around several people, refilling access and safe cable routing together. An impressive focal point still needs regular care.

Before you choose

What your indoor fountain needs from the room.

Twelve points to consider before ordering. For installation, operation and care, follow the current documentation for the product and manufacturer.

  1. 01

    Stable, level, water-resistant support

Assess the combined weight of the fountain, basin, water and decorative material. This guide does not provide structural calculations.

  2. 02

    Scale & viewing height

Decide whether you want to view the fountain from above, at furniture height or as an architectural plane.

  3. 03

    Water path & splashing

Check the actual flow, pump setting and catchment area. Splash behaviour depends on the individual model and setup.

  4. 04

    Power & cable routing

Use only supplied or recommended components. Keep connections and electrical parts dry, and follow the product's electrical instructions.

  5. 05

    Pump access

Keep the pump, service opening, cable passage and distributor accessible after positioning the fountain.

  6. 06

    Water level & refilling

Evaporation changes the level. How often you need to refill depends on the product, room and operating hours.

  7. 07

    Surfaces & cleaning

Match the cleaning method to the material. Granite, marble, quartzite, glass and mineral elements cannot all be treated with one cleaner.

  8. 08

    Lighting

Check the model's specified lighting. Consider daytime and evening appearance separately; brightness figures must come from the product documentation.

  9. 09

    Furniture, paper, textiles & electronics

Assess moisture-sensitive materials before placing them within close reach of the fountain.

  10. 10

    Sound & room acoustics

Consider conversation, work and sleeping areas, along with surfaces that reflect sound.

  11. 11

    Delivery route & installation

Check doors, stairs, lifts and handling requirements before ordering a large or heavy fountain.

  12. 12

    Model-specific instructions

Follow the current product and manufacturer documentation for assembly, operation and maintenance.
